Question about Favor
I have a quick question about Divine Favor. I have heard it said that when the world has the favor of the gods that you can get better drops from the Z chest. Can anyone confim or deny this? I have also heard that you can get better items from traveler and royal gifts if you wait for the world to have favor.
Thx |

Urban legends will abound, but that doesn't make them true. Favor is simply about whether one can access the Underworld and Fissure of Woe or not. Used to be dependent on HA, now it's dependent on achievements.

Luck is random, but people don't like to believe that. Players go out and have great drops one day; the next they have lousy drops. They look at various things to see if they were happening or not, then run figures and come up with 2+2=5.
You also might hear that your drops are affected by your placement in the party list, whether you have certain letters in your name, and if you belong to a big or famous guild. None of that is true. When you enter an instance, the server sets the drops; when you kill a foe, the server determines who gets the drop. I farm using a solo rit, no h/h. She gets all the drops, even though most of them are crap. She still doesn't get lots of golds or greens or rare items.

"Divine Favor" is a monk attribute. You are talking about the favor of the gods

better to state these than be misleading by saying "nothing at all affects drops". especially for newer players, it shouldn't be automatically assumed that inscribable items do not drop in prophecies (etc, etc) is common knowledge.

I've also heard about people who do FoW or UW only with (or without, don't remeber) favor, thinking that they would drop more. Or people who think that the last one in the party who open the end chest get better rewards, and that if you open the little chest that spawns after you complete a mission in FoW, you'll get worse rewards by the end chest

And don't forget, if you purchase stuff from the in-game store, you get better drops for a while.
